The original alignment of NY 240 began at NY 39 in Springville, and followed the current alignment to West Seneca. From West Seneca, NY 240 continued north on Potter and Abbott Roards before ending at South Park Ave. (US 62). In the 1950s, NY 240 was extended north and west to downtown Buffalo. In the mid 1960s, NY 240's alignment north of West Seneca was shifted to its current alignment along Harlem Rd. while the designation was extended south of Springville to its current southern terminus in Ashford. |
