The original NY 33 alignment stretched from downtown Buffalo to Marion in Wayne County (NY 21) along most of its current alignment west of Rochester and also included the 1924-30 alignment from Batavia to Rochester. East of downtown Rochester, NY 33 followed East Ave. overlapping with NY 15 (1930-38) and NY 2 (1938-42), the predecessors to today's NY 96. NY 33 then followed Penfield Rd. east to where it meets with present day NY 441 and continued east along that alignment and Wayne CRs 205 and 207 to NY 21 in Marion. NY 33's eastern terminus would be moved to its current location in 1949.
In Buffalo, NY 33 moved from Genesee St. to the Kensington Expressway upon its completion in the mid 1960s. |
