History: |
NY 17C's original routing followed its present course from Owego to Binghamton. When NY 17 moved to the Southern Tier Expressway in the mid-late 1970's, the NY 17C designation was extended to Waverly. |
Recommendation: |
With NYSDOT's plans to truncate NY 17 to the north-south section south of Harriman following the designation of I-86 in the area, we recommend reassigning NY 17C as NY 427. The current NY 427 alignment would be extended along Chemung CR 60 from Chemung to Waverly where it would meet NY 17C's western terminus. |
