NY 332's original alignment began at West Ave., which carried US 20/NY 5, in downtown Canandaigua. When construction of the current alignment of US 20/NY 5 was completed in 1981, NY 332 was extended a mile south to its current southern terminus. At the north end, NY 332 ended at NY 96 in Farmington. However, with the opening of the New York State Thruway in the area in the late 1950s, NY 332 was extended north to its current northern terminus.
NY 332 currently carries a minimum of four lanes of traffic following a major widening project north of Canandaigua in the late 1990s and early 2000s. |
