The original alignment of NY 178 extended from Henderson Bay off Lake Ontario at the west end to NY 177 near Barnes Corners at the east end. The western end was truncated to its current location in the late 1960s and became Jefferson CR 178. The eastern end was truncated to its current location in 1980 and became Jefferson CR 189. |
