History:

NY 287's original alignment was located in Oneida and Herkimer Counties and followed NY 365's current alignment east of Rome. In an effort to reduce the number of overlapping routes in the area as well as eliminate duplication with I-287 downstate, the NY 287 designation was removed on 1/1/1970 (Reference markers along NY 365 east of NY 12/NY 28 in Barneveld still reflect the NY 287 designation).
Replaced By: NY 365
