Decommissioned: 08/01/1979
Western Terminus: NY 26, Browns Corners
Eastern Terminus: NY 37, Redwood
Length: 2.84 miles (4.57 km)
Orientation: East-West
Counties: Jefferson
Cities: None
Villages: None
Towns: Alexandria
Name(s): None
Replaced By: Jefferson CR 192
Recommendation:

Assigning NY 287 to Steuben CR 115 and CR 73 in Lindley in Presho (The original US 15 alignment in the area). While New York Routes discourages duplication of numbers (I-287 in Rockland and Westchester Counties), the NY 287 designation would be appropriate since it would serve as a match for PA 287 (A similar violation does exist with NY 295 in Columbia County). There is enough distance between the two routes where confusion between I-287 and NY 287 would be very minimal. The northern terminus would be at NY 417 in Erwin.
