Present day NY 131 was assigned in 1960 along present day NY 37B and St. Lawrence CR 43. In 1962, NY 131 and NY 37B swapped alignments resulting in the two routes moving to portions of their current alignments. In 1964, NY 131 would be realigned off the St. Lawrence CR 43 alignment and extended east along the rest of its present course to NY 37 across from the St. Lawrence Centre Mall east of Massena. |
