The Cross Westchester Expressway was originally assigned as NY 119 before gaining the I-487 designation in 1958.

The I-487 designation was to have resurfaced along the Hudson River Expressway between I-87 and I-84. The only section completed is the Croton Expressway which carries US 9. The project was cancelled in the early 1970's.
