The original alignment of NY 91 extended south to Cincinnatus (NY 26) and north to Bridgeport (NY 31). The northern terminus was truncated to Syracuse (US 11/NY 173) in 1934 and to its current location in the late 1930s. The southern terminus was truncated to Cheningo in 1974 and its current location in 1981.
